Beetroot


Beetroot is a vegetable especially favorite of children. Because of its sweet taste, everyone likes this vegetable. It’s better food to add to your diet plan. This is a taproot type vegetable. There are many things about beetroot. Variants of beetroots, content, benefits of eating this vegetable are some of them. I mention these all points with explanation too. Some people introduce this vegetable as just beet. It's American English. Britains call it beetroots. But it’s the same thing.


Varieties of beetroot 

Mainly can see 3 variants of beetroots. Those are Beta vulgaris, Vulgaris, and ssp. And also there are many various types of beetroots in the world. Crimson, red ball, globe, Ooty are some of them. Sphericals, oblong and medium-sized beets in the world. And there are many colors we can see. Red, purple, pink, orange, white, and yellow beets are there. In markets, we can see red beets for many days. It’s a famous variant in every country. Beta vulgaris is the best to type to grow easily in your garden.




Who produce beetroots mostly

Many vegetables are mostly produced in China. I mentioned that in my previous articles that I wrote about carrots, tomatoes, and pumpkins. But unlike other vegetables, beets aren’t produced most by China. France people eat the most amount of beets yearly. They grow a large scale of beets too. Many countries grow beets to make sugar. Those beets can be introduced as sugar beets. Beets are high in sucrose. Russia, Germany, and America produce most sugar by this method. They grow this vegetable on a large scale. In 2010 decade beets give ⅕ amount to the sugar production industry. 


Content of beets 

There are many nutrients in beetroots. That’s why people add this vegetable to their diet. There is no cholesterol in beets. It is low in calories. It’s about 50 in 100 g. Beets have a small percentage of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and iron. And also vitamin A, B-6, C, and D are abundant in this vegetable. One of the famous problems is, by eating beet people get diabetes. It is a wrong idea. Beetroot juice is good for reducing sugar in the blood. Only sugar 7g in 100g of beetroots. 




Benefits of eating beets 

Many benefits can get our health by eating beetroots. Sometimes it helps us to save from diseases and sometimes helps to spend life easily. If we talk about protection from diseases, beets help to protect from many non-communicable diseases. It reduces your blood pressure, sugar level, risk of cancers, and cholesterol. Beets can increase your eyesight, improve the immunity system. Because of it, you will be able to save from many communicable diseases too. Beets are good for the brain, lungs, and mussels too. This fact was most helpful for sportsmen, students, and patients. We can eat beets in many ways. But if we make this food a tasty meal your children eat this food happily too. For a diet, it’s better to make juice or salad. Because by cooking some nutrients will evaporate. I’ll tell you how to make some drinks and meals in the next few points.



What bad of eating too many beets 

If someone eats beets too much there is a risk of gout. Because of the high oxalate in beets, this disease can infect. And there is another human division who adding beets is not so beneficial. For people who get medicines for low blood pressure and who have kidney stones, beets are not good for those people. Because beets are high in oxalate. Low calcium level course for kidney damages. Beet has a dark red color. When you cut beets and wash them, you can see the whole water takes a red color. And also after you eat beets, urine and stools will be red. Sometimes it gets pink. It’s not a disease. 


Make a beetroot juice and salad

For a diet, it’s better to make normal juice and drink it. Get two beets and remove the tail and top of the beet. Then clean it well and cut into small pieces. You can blend it now. After the filter, you can taste it. This is good for a diet. Someone wants to increase the taste of this drink, follow these steps. Add ginger pieces with beets. After blending it, you have to add sugar, lemon, and water to taste. It will be better than normal juice. 

Beetroot salad is a good meal to eat with curry. First, you have to boil water mixed with salt. Take it away from the fire and put those beets into water. After 5 minutes you can get it away. Now it’s easy to cut and remove unnecessary parts. Then cut onions, tomatoes, chile, and mix it with that beats. You can add more salt to taste. This is a good meal for a diet.


  




How to plant beets in your garden

There are two ways to plant beetroots. The first one is from seeds. You can buy beetroot seeds from the market. Then get a composite and put seeds on that soil. Now put some composts to close that seeds. Put water every day. In one week you can see small plants on that soil.

The second way is from the tail. When we cook a beet we normally remove the tail. I mean the part with leaves. Cut that part with about 0.5 cm of the beetroot remaining with the tail. Bring a water cup and put that part into it. After 4 days you can see the water went to a brown color. That time you have to bring that part and plant on the soil.
